Shockwave Therapy
What Is Shockwave Therapy Therapy?
Shockwave therapy involves using compressed air to fire a pellet back and forth within an applicator that looks like a wand or gun. The energy created is transferred through the end of the applicator and into the tissue to promote reparative processes.
The shockwave treatment lasts for 1200 to 1500 beats and the intensity can range from 0.3BAR – 8.0BAR.
The shockwave contacts the patients at 15 times a second for most injuries.
Dr. Folkerts uses Shockwave treatment to help treat bones, tendons and muscles. It is most commonly used to reduce pain and improve mobility.
